Need an honest mechanic? A reader reports that her regular mechanic had instructed her to get a brake inspection and new brakes---immediately, if not sooner. The reader brought her car to Texaco Express Lube at 831 E. Francisco Boulevard in San Rafael. The manager, Souhail Jizrawi, checked things over and said new brakes were not needed; an inexpensive adjustment would do the job.

Texaco Express Lube at 831 E. Francisco Boulevard in San Rafael makes the Heroes column again. A woman who describes herself as "mechanically dense" took her car in for an oil change and a dead battery. She reports that the patient staff led her through the entire process, keeping her strapped financial situation in mind. Not only did owner Souhail Jizrawi answer every one of her questions, he got down on his hands and knees to show her future problems that may arise. Could it be that integrity has found is way into the car-fixin' world?
